AION 2 anti-cheat: NCGuard, not Easy Anti-Cheat
NCGuard is the anti-cheat AION 2 documents. PURPLE discussions also mention VIOLET. EAC is the wrong name.
AION 2 does not use Easy Anti-Cheat. NC’s own material and the AION 2 open-source notice identify NCGuard (often written NCGUARD in block-code windows). When the game closes with a block code, the title bar cites Aion2.exe and an NCGUARD code. Those codes are launch and conflict errors. NC’s public block-code table does not describe them as account bans.
Steam and PURPLE are not identical
Community anti-cheat tracking through 2026 describes the Steam global client as NCGuard, and PURPLE — including Korea and Taiwan — as NCGuard plus VIOLET, the launcher protection. VIOLET has had compatibility complaints. That is a launcher issue, not a reason to label the game EAC.
What NC actually punishes
The global operation policy lists permanent and temporary game bans, item removal, and IP blocks. Unauthorized programs and studio-style botting sit in the heavy category. A Japanese service notice on 7 October 2026 reported 7,360 BOT-related permanent restrictions. A Taiwan notice on 15 September 2026 reported 88 permanent suspensions for studio behavior and unofficial programs. Those are enforcement facts, separate from the “undetected” line on a product page.
The plans still advertise an undetected, stream-proof overlay. Read that as a vendor claim. The policy above is the publisher’s rule. Details are in ban risk.
